Last Hope Animal Rescue was started in 2004 with a single dog, Honey, her litter of puppies, and a $100 donation. Since then we have rescued and adopted out over 2000 dogs. We are an all volunteer rescue group with a series of foster homes in the Cedar Rapids area and a shelter in Shellsburg.
We are currently the largest rescue in Iowa. We have between 30 and 35 foster homes and an average of 40-50 adoptable dogs at a time.
